I am in Washington DC getting ready to run the Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday October 28 and I feel very privileged to be able to do this for two very significant reasons. First; to have the health to be able to do it and second to have the freedom to live in a place where I can work, live and train.
For this second reason, I want to pay tribute to those soldiers and their families that sacrifice so much so that the rest of us can be free.

Humidity
As I get ready to go and run the Marine Corps Marathon next week, I trained this a.m. in very high humidity and did not feel exactly in top shape becasue the humidity has a big impact in performance. It makes me think about what humidities do we experience in life that also affect our performance in other areas. Is a bad boss the 'humidity' of work? Is a bad attitude the 'humidity' of life? What do you think?

Everything is relative.
Yesterday I had the chance to come across two very interesting things; first is this young man walking from Seattle to Key West to raise awareness for cancer and raise some funds in the process. What a remarkable way to show how much you care about something. www.mywalkingadventure.com
The second amazing thing is a group of Marathon runners caled "The Marathon Maniacs" these are truly amazingly crazy individuals capable of incredible feats like running over 50 Marathons in the same calendar year... and all for fun. As I get ready to run my second Marathon this year, next week in Washington DC to honor those that have sacrificed themselves to give us freedom, I think I am running a lot; and then I come across the 'maniacs" and wonder if I am running enough?
Everything is relative.
